2. Referring to Figure 2 and working in a counterclockwise direction, sew K, B and C strips to the A-J unit, pressing seams away from center.

3. In the same manner as step 2, stitch L, M, E and F strips to the pieced unit as shown in Figure 3; press.

4. In the same manner as step 2, stitch N, O, H and I strips to the pieced center as shown in Figure 4 to complete one Log Cabin Block; press.

5. Repeat steps 1–4 to make a total of 12 Log Cabin blocks.

Pinwheel Log Cabin Blocks

1. Referring to Figure 1, stitch a J strip to the top of an A square to make an A-J unit. Referring to Figure 5, stitch a second J strip to an adjacent side of A-J unit using a partial seam, stopping 1" from the top and locking stitches at the end; press seams away from A.
